Hi there!
I've been scouring the net and have looked in various workshop manuals but I can't find any conclusive guide to remove the 302 from an EBII Falcon (its an ex-police pursuit car apparantly with an auto box which I'm not keeping). I have experience pulling engines out of cars and would give myself probably 3/5 stars for ability but I dont really feel too comfortable doing this kind of job without a comprehensive checklist so that I know I'm not gonna run into problems down the line. The Falcon is a donor and I have already stripped out the EFI wiring loom and checked it still starts / runs ( it does! ), I just need to get the motor out so I can scrap the rest! Thanks! Craig. |

If you have pulled motors before this one is no different, its just a little windsor.Basic and straightforward

I'm actually hoping someone might have tips or a guide just so I can be sure that I don't make a common mistake or miss / damage anything in the process. Thanks! |

I just took one out 2 weeks ago, the best tip I can give you is to have the back of the car jacked up as high as you can get it and the front on a jack that you can let down as you start taking the engine up with the crane, motor and box out in one piece with no probs at all.
Couple of little things to watch, make sure you disconnect the handbrake cable where it passes thru the gearbox mount, and watch the gearbox dipstick doesn't get caught on the brake lines as it comes up. Oh yeah and it is a hell of a lot easier if you take the top half of the manifold off aswell, just for clearance on the firewall. Good luck, Rob.

Ok, having taken the advice on removing the engine being 'the easy part' I am absolutely stuck! I have taken the bolts out of the autobox which held it to the motor and I have taken the single nuts off the bottom of the engine mounts either side of the motor itself and it still wont budge! If removing the engine is the 'easy part' I think I may be fooked! Any advice would be great!
