Hey guys, I have been looking at some cheap short shifters from the US to fit mustang T5's from 1983-2003... Wondering if they would fit an EL T5?

cheers

Awesome!

I was looking at this one in particular...

How hard are they to install? do you have to take the centre console out?

Cheers

Yep should be fine bro. I've got a Steeda shifter, and its listed for Muzzy's too... But I would be tempted to get a brand name shifter tho... but if its cheap enough and works well enough, she be right.

that looks the same as my one but from a different seller..
they are fairly easy to fit..
you can either undo your gearbox x member to drop the box down a little to get to the front bolts..
or you can drill 2 large holes in your trans tunnel over the bolts so you can get a socket on the bolts..
i think there pretty good!!
no problems with my one so far.. and i havnt missed a 3rd gear shift since i fitted it lol...

I have read that a few of the ones off of ebay are angled due to the left hand drives? is this the case with the one I sent a link to?

I just bought the shifter, so it will take probably 9-14 days to get here from the states. I don't really want to drop the gearbox out as I don't have a jack to support it or a torque wrench, can I just drill two holes in the trans tunnel to put the new shifter in?

The short shifter is in!!! It was fairly easy, just cut a bit of the metal away to get at those two bolts, then it was easy as. Feels great, cheers for your help guys.
