What is the differance between the AU2 i6 and the AU1 xr8 throtle bodies? i have been reading about the people getting larger throtle bodies for there i6's. i have acess to a au1 xr8 throtle if they can be inter changed easily. what are the sizes and bolt patterns? will the tps need to be changed?

So does anyone know what the standard size throtle body for a auxr8 is and is it anywhere near going to fit a i6?

im not 100% but i think the xr8 is 65mm??

Shame plenty of ppl think this... Coz it's completely false.

Get the "70mm" (actually 68-69) off ebay or the on here that sells them. But unless you have extractors and exhaust prolly not worth doing it yet coz these will be your biggest restriction.

If you let more air in, you gotta be able to get the air out (exhaust). So a bigger TB would only be better if the exhaust was also changed to suit

so any throttle body that will fit a 5ltr windsor will fit a i6 au?

there is no point??
just keep the 6 cyl throttle body..
your not going to gain anything from it except the hastle of modifying things to fit

If this was such a great power mod, why havent people been doing it for years?

I am only doing trying to find out the differance between the two. I can get a throttle body off a au1xr8 as it has been replaced by a inlaw. I know that you need to up grade most other things intake, exhaust and cam. I have read the thread about the dored out throttle body and he got a 11kw gain with the mods he had with only this change.

So if its off topic, but how the hell do you clean them?? We've tried to pull it off before, but cant figure out how to
advice would be appreciated
