I've a set of EL rear lights you can have to practice on, in perfect condition, otherwise I'm throwing them out.

Hi If you are going to tint the headlights get some headlight covers and tint them so you can take them off for driving at night. Cheers MD

If you thinking about tinting the front id go with headlight covers and get them sprayed gloss black or tinted on the inside of the cover. At least the covers can be removed and would save you from getting pulled over and getting defected for having tinted headlights that arent as easy to remove.. I have/had tinted covers on my EF and it didnt look too bad, darkened up the front end if you are after that kind of look..
With the rears, heaps of guys have done it on white cars and it looks good, i wouldnt go crazy dark though, just enough to turn the red part of the lense a few shades darker looks mint. Heres a white EF with tinted head lights and tail lights, you should be able to see it, even through all the smoke, goes well haha, good ol' NZ'er http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1oEAYYxN6Y&feature=related |

Yeah still got them, still using them too though
I got mine for $80 but was a custom job as they are pre tinted when they are moulded. Try pick up a set of clear ones second hand off ebay or something and spray them, would be much cheaper that way.. |

Yeah thats what i would do, just prep the plastic cover first, i.e. light sand, quick clean to remove anything left on the surface, plastic primer, then gloss black. If you wanted it tinted only and not full black, you could always use niteshades or some other transparent black spray, should work to the same effect, only difference is the light will be able to pass through the plastic lense easier if its tinted rather than full black
