Hey mate, doing the same thing to my car.

As far as I know you're gunna need the following:

4 spd g/box, duh
4spd ECU capable of running your engine
As much of the 4spd wiring looms as you can get your hands on, it'll make it easier.

Other than that I think that's it.

You will need a smartlock bypass modual to run the ECU in the EA.

Ford trans coolers where part of the radiator. there was a factory option for a separate trans cooler and this was mounted in front of the radiator behind the grill. should have been standard as it was only a $75 option or some stupid s**t like that.

Hi Also need floor shift assy, power/econo switch, trans cooler lines, tailshaft?, rear crossmember?, park brake cables?. The 4 speed is a lot bigger than the 3 speed, are the trans tunnels big enough and are there mounts for the rear crossmember in the right place?. Cheers MD

The tunnel is the same. Not sure about the crossmember but it would make sense to use the 4 speed one. Hand brake cables are the same.

i just did this conversion recently,

engine swap on 2 eas, one was a centre point 3sp, other was a multi point 5 spd manual

the guy wanted the multi point and manual into the centre point ea and 3 spd,

so i ripped out all engine bay wiring, plus the dash, from the multi point car and swapped everything into the centre point ea, the engine and the tranny fitted perfectly , no dramas at all, everything fitted and worked a treat

just a reminder, number each plug when you pull the dash out, dont want to get them mixed up or leave one unplugged,

basically all engine looms and car looms swap to the other car, easier and quick and saves alot time rather then doing the dodgy chopping here and there cheers

hopes this helps mate

hi, thanks fellas for all the advice,I'll pull everything off both cars and do the measure up. It should be a straight forward auto to auto swap with exception of wiring & computer.

i think your going to need the 4spd wiring and ecu, cause i dont think the 3spd ecu and wiring will function the gearbox properly,

are the both multi point cars?
