you have done something, big a*** alternator or caps?? whats the power cable?? mine runs at about 13.5 until i goto my legal speaker limit (i.e. cones are almost about to bottom out and start cooking voie coils). then its like 11.8 off a 800cca odyssey and my new alternator with a 500+ CCA 4wd battery.

if you pump it up, the voltage should drop... shouldn't it?

Ive got a dual battery system with 0gauge, and 2x1.5 farrad caps and I don't reach 14 volts unless the system is off and im doing 100km/hr!! and i have stocko alternator aswell!

i've used pioneer in the past and its served me well, so i've got pioneer 6" in the doors and a 12" pioneer 500w sub. i've also used pioneer HU before, but with the wagon i decided to try another brand so went with Panasonic. the HU is brilliant- AUX RCA inputs and heaps of other features and so far has been a great unit

Panasonic cq-c8400w H/u
Clarion in-dash 7" tv
2x XMS 7" rear screens
XMS dvd player mounted in rear fold down armrest
2 x Jaycar response 2x100 amps (fr/rr spkrs)
1 x Response 2x150 amp (bridged at 347wrms running subs)
4 x Response 6" 2-way spkrs
2 x Response 12" dual mag/voice coil Blue subs
twin 25litre sub enclosure ported into cabin where parcel shelf sub used to be :)

Jaycar stuff is very underrated!, I now work at strathfield and theres not alot that compares to the response equip without spending lotsa cash.
"IF" i ever changed, it'd only be the 6"s for some JBL 3-ways.

Wouldnt touch any of kenwoods new gear with a 10ft pole,
pioneers new range coming shortly is a bit on the tacky side, you've gotta watch pioneer.....their dear stuff is good/their cheap stuff is crap!

For a cheap amps/speakers Jensen are very good (well made/good
clean power/output)
DONT touch avalanche/boss audio if u respect reliability and quality
JBL and MTX are VERY good
Steer clear of Sony head units (lots break down)
VDO & Sanyo head units are simple, cheap and v.reliable

Avoid roof mount dvd players, they dont last long, screens are ok though.

((PS..I dont intend insult to anyone who owns any of these brands, this is just a general observation based on what i have seen/heard/been told by customers over the 6 years i've worked in car audio at both Jaycar and strathfields))

How are you finding the new brand "Soundstorm"? I've heard that there "Stretch Daddy" amps are good? I have two 12" (scw-120) subs in a suited bandpass box and they really do pack a punch!

i'm running 0/1 gauge thru the car, with a alpine MRD1001 and i NEVER see 14V appear... peaks at 13.7V with barely any bass playing at low volumes, and will bottom out after a while down near 12.5V but thats after dropping a lot of 35hz kinda bassnotes :)
otherwise, 575CCA battery and stock altenator :) gotta upgrade the altenator - battery wire and altenator - ground wires to 0/1 gauge too :)
