Hi everyone,
I'm a newb here and have done a lot of searching, but can't find a specific answer to this. I have a BA Fairmont Ghia and am looking at also buying a BA wagon, but I want the same Fairmont Ghia luxury interior. Door trims and seats are no problem as a swap, but I'm not sure how hard (or even if it's possible) to swap out the ugly heater control and screen for the much nicer Colour screen, CD player and controls etc. Has anyone done it? What are difficulties and if anyone can point me in the direction of a tech article or thread, that'd be great! Cheers, Chris |

It's certainly possible.
Lukeyson (member here) will probably have the best advice on the matter. But it can all be done, you'll need the ICC, BEM, heater box, passenger side mirror (it's got a temp sensor in it), sunload sensor on dash, and dash loom. , you may need Ford's assistance to re-program the BEM to the ECU so the car will start.

Cool, thanks Data_mine,
getting Ford's help is no great problem, as I have an excellent relationship with the service manager at the dealership I have my Ghia serviced at. I was thinking it may be easier to buy a Ghia wreck and strip what I need from that. Ultimately I'd love to drop in a turbo motor too, but that may have to wait a bit depending on $$. Thanks for the help. If I go down this path, I'm happy to document if it hasn't been done yet. Chris |
