Anyone know if the late EL fuel pump and cradle (plastic AU style one) will drop in in place of the EA to early EL metal one? I bent the lip of the metal cradle when replacing the fuel pump, so it won't seal and leaks fuel when the tank is full. I have a late EL plastic one sitting around. Is the fuel tank the same shape? Wiring connectors are different, but I can handle that.

The tanks are listed as different by Ford. Someone else here might have fitted one but, seeing as Ford changed the Fuel tank in march 1998 they must have for a good reason. This is the time they started using the AU style pump and Housing.
