Can anyone help with this plz??
Gas converter is freezing over when heater is turned on. Have just got back from mechanic who replaced the diaphragm & gasket in converter, but have now got it freezing (as oppsed to leaking)
Mechanic seems to think there could be a blockage in water hose or thermastat broken.
Dont want to waste money while he tries to find prob.
Any suggestion apreciated.

First disconnect one hose on the convertor at the engine end of the hose. then disconnect the other hose at the convertor run the water hose water thru the hose to see if it flow ok.

Check the pipe fitting the water is coming out of the engine it maybe to restricted due to rust or dirt.

Remove thermstat and check if it is jammed open.

If ok check what hoses are connected to the convertor. it is good to have the hoses independent from the heater hose even if you fit a tee piece to ensure water flow.
good luck
