hi
are full aluminium 38-50mm radiators as good as a normal 3 core radiator in helping keep the temperature gauges down when towing, they just seem cheaper than the normal heavy duty 3 core radiator and wondered whether theyre as good what do full aluminium radiators go for that are good for hot weather |

I spoke to some guys last week at NatRad when I bought a new 2-core copper radiator. They don't recommend aluminum radiators as they tend to leak and fall apart more readily than copper ones.
A 3-core was recommended frequent towing.

hi does putting a larger transmission cooler or a transmission cooler out of a holden wreck ok and will either keep the transmission cooler when towing.
whats the minimum size transmission cooler you need to keep the transmission cooler after bypassing the radiators transmission cooler when frequent towing do you bypass the radiator auto cooler or do you leave it connected and if you bypass it and run the lines direct to the external auto cooler does that keep the temperature gauges down |

As far as I recall you have the oil pass through the cooler before it goes through the radiator, that way the trans oil stays at engine temp, never gets too cool.

does either bypassing the radiator cooler or run the oil through the cooler first then the radiator keep the temperature gauges down
how do you know which line supplys the oil |

Use cooler first then through radiator then back to trans. Use both cooler and radiator. Trans fluid is at its best at around engine temp. As for what line does what, i guess loosening off the line very slightly would soon tell you! Or if a mate has ford and factory cooler, check his out.

would using one the same size as current on or a bit bigger but also twice as thick keep the transmission cooler with frequent towing and hot weather
