gday guys
im in the market for a new 2.5" cat back exhaust system because ive just found the one fitted to my car now has 3 holes in it lol... always wondered why it never sounded that good. the car isnt on the road yet an im after a system with one muffler. the problem im having at the moment is will having one muffler make it to loud to get a roadworthy with? cheers

idno about roadworthys, but the 2.5" i have with one muffler and a hotdog is very drony at about 2200rpm. Annoying on the freeway. I used to have one with a rear muffler instead of the hotdog, it was slightly quieter but didn't have the annoying drone. I'd recomend the dual mufflers:P

i'd say it sounds better with the hotdog, although the engine is a bit healthier than when it had the dual mufflers. Sounds pretty reasonable inside and out, a bit deeper with the hotdog too.

I just bought a 2.5" Redback system with 1 large high flow muffler in front and 1 high flow resonator (not a hotdog) at the back. The sound is a nice burble under normal conditions, nice bark when pushed but still quiet inside. To *me* that sounds good, what sounds "good" to you may be different.
I suggest you hear some 2.5" exhausts in the configurations you are after before deciding on one muffler or a muffler/hotdog combo. BTW, my system was $350.00 self fit or $480.00 fitted and included clamp, cat gasket and chrome tip. Cheers RD

2.5in pipe, 1 straight through muffler and hotdog resinator tailpipe section, will not drone on the highway and sound good at idle and when reving it out!
cheers and have a nice day........................

cheers for the help guys.
i think im going to get one centre muffler and a hotdog in the rear. and if that still aint good to my liking i will get the dog cut out lol. or i do it the other way and start with the one muffler and see how that goes. im still undecided to whether im going to put extractors on before or after roadworthy and rego. so thats why im trying to decide on the muffler dilemma because if i do it before roadworthy i dont want to have it to loud that it wont pass
