Have a bit of a search around to find the recommended box volume, double it, and then allow for the thickness of the MDF.
From the link you provided all I could tell u is that the baffle will need to be about 16x32" and the box will need to be atlest 7" deep for the speakers to 'fit'.. fitting is one thing, ideal volume for sound reproduction is another For example the 12" subs I run require a 1.5cuft enclosure (each).

from what i can work out {DESCRIPTION} is the sealed box dimentions are 1.5Ft³ (42.48 Lt) which i think is s**t, cos thats pretty tiny for a 15" box. am i right? check out the link and tell me what you see? cos im a little confused

sounds about right. The top of the line Rockfrod Fosgate subs from last year (15" Power HX2) which are 1000W RMS recommend 1.5cuft enclosure.
Start working out what dimensions you'll need to accomplish 2x1.5cuft

That will be a fair bit of bass in any car. Remember it you can increase sound by: - Increasing cone size - Increasing number of speakers - Increasing power - Proper box design So there may be no need to run 2 x 15" subs unless you can power them both to there full poential. You may be better off with 1 and a larger amp. The other thing you will find is subs need to move air to make sound. With a gas tank and 2 x 15"s and a huge, i expect there will not be sufficient air to get the most from that configuation. You will find more bass with the boot open. I would make up a box to suit 1 x 1.5c/f and try 1 x 15"s first. I found in my skyline (previous car) that 1 x 15" Soundstream SPL 160 was louder than 2 in the boot and i had plenty of amplifier power.

jesus, that all your gonna give 2 15"s. My 12" is 1.78 cu feet. I love it, it gives more a deep base then punchy. Great for most things except house because that has a lot of irregular beats. But straight forward techno going doof doof doof doof doof doof, its great. when hous i have to turn media expander off then its fine again. i think one day i will have to invest in a more powerfull amp.
Anyway, havea a look in teh instruction manual or the net for recommened enclosure size. Cheers |
