Thanks Hi here are some pics for you. This is the VCT engine I bought. You will see there is the oil line that comes off the right side of the VCT unit on the front of the head. That goes down to the side of the block where the oil pressure sender bolts onto the block. the sender bolts onto the end of the oil line after the line bolts onto the block. This next pic is one that TROYMAN posted in my build thread to show me how the extra pulley in the belt setup goes. Its there so the belt does not rub on the VCT unit. Its the one in the middle. Do you plan to use the VCT head on a AU engine or E Series engine? I actually dont see why the VCT head cant be used on a E series engine. The timing chains is the same so you wont run into any trouble there. Hope this helps. Last edited by XR-Lane on Sun Sep 27, 2009 2:22 am, edited 1 time in total. |

Thanks guys
I am using an AU motor. The head did not come with the oil line or the extra pulley so im just not sure what I have to do for the idler pulley under the VCT. How is the pulley mounted? |

Dose any one have one of these oil lines they want to sell???
Is the pulley mounted by a bolt going it to the head or is there a bracket setup? |

You can get a aftermarket turbo line made up to replace the missing one easily enough.
The pulley actually mounts on the power steering bracket which is unique to the VCT motor, good luck finding one. What I have done is customise the standard bracket by grinding down the bracket for clearance and using a ferule to mount the pully, works better than the standard one as the mount is more solid. BTW the pulley is the same as the other pulleys (apart from part number and price) so get a standard one and save heaps.

If anyone cares Ford still have the power steering bracket $70.
I have to wait for the oil line they said that there is guarantee that they will make more anytime soon think it was $70 ish. I asked about the belt tensioner and he said $400. TRADE price....WTF |
