Im assuming that as long as the dizzy shafts are the same length and are mounted the same way then i cant see why not? I reckon if you took them both off and sat one on top of the other you might only just be able to pick a slight difference but it'd be bloody close as both times the wrong gear went onto the aux shaft fine, otherwise i prob would have picked up on it at the time.

I guess it could have been a case of that, but I thought they would want the cash more! Also fords had just ordered in a really obsure little spring for the rear brakes of a econovan and they did that without fuss. My normal parts supplier told me it was genuine only, and they told me that another workshop had tried to get one too and failed. So maybe just a adelaide thing. lol Or maybe they just went with EL without thinking that other falcons used that shaft. |

Then i should have a problem with damaging the aux shaft if i swap the gears, assuming my old one is still good ?

So i guess the best way around the issue of the stupidly priced ford dizzy is to buy a cheapy, rip off the TFI & the drive gear, fit your factory drive gear & fit a Genuine Bosch TFI to it? It would work out to be much, much cheaper than the ford one, even with the cost of the bosch TFI module. I might have to do that soon, i've been having some weird ignition issues that might be dizzy related. Cheers ToranaGuy

I'm building a custom electric dizzy for my F8b powered mighty boy, getting EFI & a megasquirt. Cheap new dizzy, with the TFI replaced & changing the gear would set you back a little over $100. Almost half the price. It would be worth the effort for some. Cheers ToranaGuy
