Id dare say it has not. I didn't think it was possible.

anything is possible with time and money. It can be done, but at great expense.

If you're going to go to the trouble to put a ZF in with the wiring and whatnot, you might as well just put in a whole BF wiring harness and a barra i6

i dont believe it would be worth the trouble, E series has a different bellhousing pattern to AU/BA/FG 6's (bottom bolts) and the ZF 6 speed has half its computer in the PCM and the other half internally, so as has been suggested the easiest way is to put both the DOHC engine and the 6 speed in at the same time as it would only be slightly harder to do both.

I know that its going to go into an e series but they recon that fitting a zf6 into a ba 4 speed will cost around 20k and alot of stuffing around for the ba

What does a zf retail for?
Easiest way would be with BA engine, but you would want to be paying a lot less than that.

20k.... lmfao almost sounds like a ford 'genuine' quote, still don't believe it though.
would want a bf motor n gear as ba never came with the zf afaik
