Im thinking about purchasing and fitting one of these to a EL in place of the premium sound package

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1026A-EONON-7-LC ... 286.c0.m14

has anyone done it if so wats involved?

is it a direct fit into the double din?

is it direct connect using a ISO adapter harness?

can the existing amp and speakers be intergrated?

if not wats likely to be involved please

not that anybody was very helpful or interested but i went ahead and bought and fitted anyway

ended up being resonably easy using a couple of iso adapters and moding the original din bracket and making an adapter for the amp cable

i think its a pretty cool cheap mod

i now have gps/dvd/tv/video/radio/mp3/btooth and all intergrated to the orginal speakers & amp and it sounds and looks great all for around 400$

most surprising bit the main unit was delivered to the door FREE in less than 3 days from Hong Kong - ive waited over a week sometimes to get stuff delivered in this country and paid a premium price for the so called service

I installed a similar unit in my new car. Mine was specific to my car because of the dash, but was basically the same as yours. I also was amazed at how it can come from hong kong quicker than across the country.
The only things i found annoying was the bluetooth wasn't very good. The mike didn't work well and i lost my voice dialling, so i went back to a standard bluetooth kit.
Also, when playing from CD,SD card or Ipod, there is no shuffle function. Hopefully yours is different.
The main reason i got mine was for the reverse camera, as my new car is a 4WD.
All in all, i would agree, it is a great mod. well done for thinking outside the box.

i bought an eonon,
i would not recomend them at all.
the most annoying thing about them is the FAN THAT DOESNT SHUT UP!!!
its really annoying.
as well as the fan, the unit has really poor rca preouts, creating a high pitched buzzing consistently, and no, its not the grounding, the wiring, or my amps.
i personally would never buy one again.
go to sonicelectronix.com and check out some the brand name units they sell.
they start at about 400 bucks oz to get em here. jvc, pioneer etc.. plus they are more reliable.

also, the graphics on the eonon units are very poor, very chinese.
im looking into the pioneer avh4150 i think its called??
AMAZING unit, visual, audio, everything.
