They are not too expensive to pick up at Bursons. I've got one, makes it so easy to re-seal the pump. Cheers ToranaGuy

I think it was about $65 bucks, universal kit that does most common power steer pump pulleys from the 60's to the late 90's.
Cheers ToranaGuy

if the pump is just leaking behind the pulley where the cast iron pump part meets the pressed steel housing u can buy a seal kit from your local parts place for around $20 and just replace that large o'ring , that will stop any leaks from the front, if u buy the pulley tool i guess u can replace all the seals inside aswell.

is that question directed at me cjh?
ive only pulled a few pumps apart and replaced the 4 rubber seals that normally leak. the large main o'ring at the front, the 2 screw o'rings on the back and the rubber on the valve that the high pressure line screws into. i have never had the cast iron pump apart. wouldnt be hard to make up a tool to compress the cap and spring to remove the circlip though, spring pressure isnt much, u can press the cap in a couple of mm with your thumbs. not hard for me anyway. i have only had problems with leaks, not problems with pressure. |
