EL series one XR8s had 3.27:1 both manual and auto. 3.23:1 doesn't exist for any V8 model.

The EL series one XR6s had 3.45:1 both manual and auto.

Both EL2 XRs got the 3.45:1 diff for manual and auto.

hmmm variety of opinions here, i have bought myself a december 96 EL XR8 I and checked the diff and there is no tag, just the 'High performance - use LSD oil only' tag.

how many revs should it do at 100 if it was a 3.27 or a 3.45 this is probably the best way to check

cheers

There should be a sticker on the right hand diff housing near the spring seat that indicates the ratio.

Cheers
