Hey everyone,

So i want to install some blue footwell lights for my ef xr6 sedan. I was wondering what the best way to do this would be, as in where to hook the wires up to, as I want them hard wired rather then plugged into the cigarette lighter. I would like to have a switch mounted underneath the dash that turns them on and off. What sort of neon sticks should i use and how would i mount them under the dash?

Thanks heaps for your replies and suggestions.

Cheers,

Will

If I stand corrected there is a tech documents regarding foot lighting in the E model, you can just either purchase coloured bulbs or condom covers.

ohk so im a bit of a newb at this sort of stuff, but i have installed the footwell and console lights that come on when the doors open.. so you would just recommend cutting off the original terminals, twisting the two wires together, crimping them into another terminal? Sorry for the questions thanks heaps for your help

Dont take it off so that you dont get power to the ciggy just strip into the wires. And then have your relay or switch then to your neon.

You can either replace the bulbs to Blue led or have neons.

hey guys,

well so far i have had no trouble tackling the install for the neons, i have placed my switch inside the centre console, done all the wiring, but now i just have one problem.... Where do I mount the sticks. Under my dash there isn't any bars or anything I can cable tie them to, I want them to be well hidden, its on an EF XR sedan if that helps, any suggestions? Cheers.

You will just have to sort the mounting problem yourself. Where ever it will stay put and hidden.

On my ED I have one cable tied around the part of the steering column that doesn't twist and on the passenger I drilled two holes in the sides of the reverse cycle duct just to get a small cable tie through to get it to run along side that...
