Would a BA XR8 exhaust(not includind headers) fit on a BA V8 mont(3v barra)?
I'm assuming that they are the same diameter. |

yeh they should do, its the body of the car that determines the shape of the exhaust system

They're close enough to fit up. Catch is the XR8 system will need you to drop the IRS cradle to fit it up.
Here's a comparo

I have an redback xr8 twin 2 1/2 inch on the missus car they fit straight on the only mods I had to do was to put a bit more length on it because her car is a Fairlane and I had to get the Y section to suit the twin pipes because the single pipe one is different.

Was thinking bout buying a GT exhaust for my Ghia but if you gotta drop the cradle then bugger that Notice the 'over the diff' part is much larger (two pipes instead of one). AFAIK you can wiggle the single pipe unit around to get it to fit. It may not be the case, but the workshop manual (where those pics came from) says you have to. My exhaust guy said he had to cut my stock GT exhaust out, the DiFillipo replacement is made to be installed without removing the IRS. But the factory system isn't.

I didnt have to drop anything it is a massive pain in the a*** but you can wriggle the twin pipe through there.
