Mick, you really need to use the XR ECU. The mismatch in fuel pressure, and injector opening times etc, will be noticeable using the Std ECU, as you are finding out.

In reality, there is only around 8-9 kw difference between the std and tickford engines.

Don't forget that many variables contribute to a good run, including things like ambient air temp, driver reaction etc.

Does the engine feel stronger to you when driving it? I do recommend sourcing the XR ECU to match the other mods.

I recently put the XR cam in my EL, and I noticed a very small, seat of the pants, difference. Mind you I have had XR Fuel maps, fuel pressure reg, intake and exhaust mods to make the most of it.

Cheers
BenJ

After putting in all the stuff did the car feel any different? Did it have a bit more go or was it still the same? if your not using the XR6 ecu i would of left the XR6 fuel reg out and kept the standard one in as it might be running a bit too rich, as they run rich enough already from factory.

What was your trap speed on both runs?
