As this is the early XR6, the seats were not as nice as the ED etc. The MOMO wheel was an option only, and there was NO 16" wheel option available at that time either.
I agree with the name recognition, and it was one of the best family performance cars of it's time, and will still hold it's own today. But, as an investment, I can't see it. BenJ

I think I got a quote from All Panels and parts for $2500 Ended up getting it done for 1250. EL T5. Has done 188 ks, So it is in no way new but it drives perfect apart from the slight grind getting it into reverse.

BenJ Sorry BenJ, I know you are a bit of a guru on the workings of the E series, but in this case, you are wrong. The EBII SXR6 came standard with the same seats as all the other EB/ED XR's (obviously different cloth, as is usual in different models, but the same seat). The MOMO wheel was standard equipment on ALL EBII SXR6's. On all other variants of the EB II - ED XRs (EBII SXR8, ED XR6 and XR8) the MOMO wheel was a $900 option. The sprint kit was available on all EBII-ED XR's, as was the 16" ROH rim option. It was the first ever XR6 and as a result Ford made great efforts to promote it in the market. Perhaps that is why they put the MOMO wheel in as standard when it was optional in the XR8? Try to open people up the possibility of a performance 6 maybe. Whatever their reasoning, it worked!

Yea "All Panels And Parts" are abit on the expensive side espically for a 6cyl EB Engine. Olympic never seem to have anything i need though but if i want a conversion i guess i will head on down there ! U-Pull it is my favourite place down South Though!
All in all good job on the conversion !

Yeah, There are a few little dents and scratches, and if i keep the car I might get it painted and have all that stuff fixed up (New bonnet, p/s front quarter panel, rear p/s quarter panel, front bumper all have minor dents n stuff)
My clutch started slipping the other night so I am getting an exedy HD clutch put in on monday. Will see how it goes.

Clutch is in, but will be going back because they didn't put in a heavy duty like I asked for. How long will I get out of a standard clutch, driving it hard, occasional 10 second long skids?
Also my left engine mount was snapped, and that was what was throwing power steering belts. Went through 4 belts. LOL. So that's all fixed up now and it's driving well again. The other day I was giving it a bit of a workout (just after getting the car back) and I was doing about 4500 revs in second, clutch in, POP!, out the exhaust was a puff of grey smoke, and I see black s**t bouncing all around the road behind me, looks like the 4499's got the better of my standard cat lol. So I will be gutting it soon until I can afford a hi-flow. The motor is leaking oil slightly out the front of the block. What would cause this? a seal? It's nothing major but if I degrease it, the front of the block has a considerable amount of oil after around 2 weeks. Cheers guys.

Bit of an update, not much has changed with the EB except it is looking like a bit of a skid car, for some reason I got some stockies from u-pullit and chromed them up. (Looks a bit sus because they are on the back only lol). For now the EB is being retired to the shed (gradual resto...?)
Anyway I put the short shifter in myself, was a bit messy, the holes I tried drilling in the floor werent up to scratch so got the bolt cutters out (lol) to make room so I could get those back 2 bolts out without dropping the box. Went in very nicely, it's a pretty mean contender, transformed the whole feel of the shift. (And it was only an eBay cheapie. Pic Attachment: 24092009656.jpg I have purchased an AUII XR6. Got it for a pretty reasonable price (I went for the AU with higher k's over an EL with lower k's). Here's the AU 01 build AUII XR6 5 speed manual 166000ks Attachment: 05102009667 copy.jpg Attachment: 05102009666.jpg The AU is stock as at the moment (Doesn't even have the tickford wheels), but I am going to keep it that way, lower it, 2.5" cat-back and hopefully pick up some cheap fpvs of some sort, or just BA XR8 wheels.
