What on earth do I do about this? The lock nut securing the wheel has a perfectly round outer edge so I can't smash a socket onto it at all.

bite the bullet,new set.

Na, I don't want them at all. I'm trying to get the wheels off. The socket does not bite into the nut at all, its completely f**k.

then weld a good nut on it.let it cool down to cold and grunt it off, drop the battery leads off.

what about a large s**t forgot the name.... ...f**k allen key lol...

Get a large allen key the same size as the lock nut remover and see how ya go. or do what hans suggested... nut + weld + beer = remove the f**k easy as s**t.

either that or bash a socket over the top and hope it grips (still works on some round ones), at work ive got sockets to egt them off which have a tapered reverse thread in them and they get them off a treat. got different sizes too. that particular model lock nut would have to be the worse for stripping them. get some speedy brand ones, they work well.

Yeah, it'll have to be something along those lines. I'll have a closer look tomorrow and see what I can do. C*** of things they are!

if you have a good cold chisel you can try to spin it off,but if its too sharp youll cut it away and thats worse----weld it,if it breaks off,do it again.

is the locknut sticking out past the rim or is it flush, u can sometimes use some vice grips to loosen them if it sticks out a bit. otherwise socket is the go they only need to be on a couple of millimetres to grab

I reckon if I swung a cold chisel at it the first thing I would do is take a big chunk out of the mag. The mags will be up for sale so I don't want that to happen.

only if you had the room to do it.

Ok, drama over. Found an odd socket I had and knocked it over the top of the lock nut. Used a breaker bar and off they came. Took a whole 5 minutes.

Thanks guys!!
