Can anyone tell me if *ALL* NF Fairlane ghias came with SLS fitted or if it was an option? The rear struts seem horribly expensive for the SLS so I can't help wondering if it's worth while ditching it & changing it to standard. Would I regret it or would it be an improvement?
Looking for any advice as I have been quoted $400/pair for the rear struts!! |

I believe it was standard on fairlane of the age.
But many people ditch it for standard suspension, especially to lower the car.

Cheers The sls failed shortly after buying it and was replaced with king springs under warranty, but they where not lows, I think they where higher than standard. But back then I was not tinkering with the car so did not worry about it. A few weeks ago I installed king lows, XF lows in the back and EF in the front. The XF lows are a little higher and stiffer, so with my LPG tank it sits well. |

fezlane wrote: Hi Really sorry to hijack this thread but were the rear springs falcon or fairlane springs. Here is how mine looka st the moment I think it looks like a rollerskate, Superlows on Sunday! Attachment: DSC_2162.JPG Cheers Steve There is no difference between falcon and fairlane springs mate accept the sls. And when they get replaced with standard springs they are just falcon springs. some people use a combination when lowering their car. do you tow anything? do you have a sub or gas tank in the back? these are all factors to think about when selecting springs. hope this helps |
