I'm very fussy with my cars and normal people wouldn't care but I have a few small issues here which are giving me the s**t!
Firstly I notice the backlight on the climate control/trip computer unit will dim whenever I push my foot on the brake, or if I put the indicator it will dim when the indicator flashes. I have been told this is due to poor grounding. Where do I look to rectify this? Secondly, the speedo occasionaly fluctuates when stopped at the lights or parked. For instance, car will be stopped, in park but with the engine still running, I can cometimes notice the needle floating between 5-15km/h. If i give the engine abit of a rev it might float up to 30km/h and then drop back down. Another grounding issue perhaps? Thirdly, on the very hot day we have had for a while in Sydney yesterday(36c), I was driving for about 2hrs with the aircon on full ball. If I stopped at the lights for 1min+, the oil pressure would sometimes drop down and the dash would start beeping at me which is the first time it has done this in the 2months+ i have owned it. There was no lifter noise or rattles so I presumed it was electrical and whenever i drive off the pressure would lift back up. Another grounding issue perhaps? I should also mention that looking through the service receipts from the previous owner, he had mentioned this to the Ford Dealer about 35,000kms ago. On the invoice it says they "Checked oil pressure - OK. Replaced Oil Pressure sensor, checked grounding on dash, checked OK". It's obviously reared its head again. Any help on these *related?~~* problems would be much appreciated.

I have heard of similar problems before on much older falcons, namely XA, it was the voltage stabilizer on the back of the Instrument cluster but later falcons don't seem to have them, could be a connection? try getting under the dash and unplug the Harnesses and reconnect them?

Check the main power cable/lug on the big output terminal of the alternator. These have a nasty habit of burning out over the years and creating all sorts of weird electrical problems.

Thanks for the replies. I'll chase both these up and report back....
