hey
got a prob with my fairmont, the airbag light comes on and blinks when you start the car, goes away, blinks again and then stays on? anyone ever had this before? if so? how do you fix it please??

The flashing is the Air bag system displaying the fault code, if the flashing started without provocation then I would suggest looking up the fault code / codes in the following doco.
{DESCRIPTION} The clearing is easy after you determine the reason for the error, it is explaind in the doco as well. Cheers TW.

not sure if this helps but I ahd the wire underneath the seat discon on my AU and the light stayed on but as soon as I recon it went off.

fair enough u fixed it i just left it and eventually it went away after a month or so

Yeah, it depends though on the code....
There are intermittant codes, and hard fault codes (ones that are obvious, and need to be repaired in order to clear the code)... The hard fault ones need to be repaired, and then the battery disconnected for 1 minute or so, then re-connected.... This should initiate a new self test, and clear the code.... Intermittant codes require the Airbag Pin to be shorted to ground, for the code to be removed.

the code i get is the low battery code (1,2)... to clear it i need to short the pin to ground?
