obviously im not the most mechanically minded but i was just wandering how to fit a pod filter to my el falcon. i have already fitted a 2.5" system with extractors and a mate suggested that it needed to breathe a bit more and that you could possibly attach a pod filter straight on to where the airbox is connected to the air-intake pipe.

yes you could just take out your air box and put your pod filter on the end of your pipe might want to put up a heat shlid tho

in my honest opinion..... all pod filters should die....
a K&N Panel Filter does the same job whilst being legal as it fits in the standard airbox.. unless the box is modified for the pod of course.

For N/A = 3" intake into stock air box - massive PITA to get it to seal properly - pod on intake = win!

I thought it was pretty easy to understand, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt; maybe you misread it.
N/A engine. 3" piping to air box. 3" piping into air box doesnt seal properly (Pain In The a*** - PITA), therefore you shouldnt use a panel filter - you should use a pod filter on the piping. Makes sense doesnt it? |

this is my setup ,at present moment till i go back to tafe
3 inch pipe connects to the bendable stock pipe, then where the orignal air box sits, is a 90 degree bend welded on with a pod filter there, the shield is made out of fibre glass with the snorkel forcing cold air into it, imo work very well for a mod
