After being a member here for a while, the time has come to spend more time on the forums and get out a meet a few of you at events/cruises...
But in the mean time, this is my ride:

The story started a while ago in jan '07, wiht the purchase of a bog stock BA 2003 Sedan XR6T, Blood Orange in colour, Premium sound, Sports Leather Interior, 5 Speed manual, 1600kg Tow Pack, Tints, full service history ( fleet owners wife's car) for 19.5k was pretty stoked with her from the get go.

Vowed not to modify her at all.....
As if that would last.... :shock:

First mods were alloy radiator overflow and red silicon hose kit, slotted front rotors with decent pads and silver painted B pillars.

After 6 months came the CV Performance generic flash tuner ( 8psi/10psi and valet tunes)

Then at the end of 2007 the first proper mods were completed:
* Rapid Systems V3.5 High Flow kit
* Rapid Systems battery re-location Kit
* Rapid Systems Oil / Air Separator System
* NIZPRO Heavy duty Valve Springs & retainers
* Clutch Industries Twin Plate Organic clutch
* 3.5" S/S Metal Cat
* twin 4" tip cannon mufflers & hot dogs on otherwise twin stock system

About this time I cracked the shats with the standard ford interior and its poo like grey colour, decided to change that quick smart..

Cosmetic & brake mods were next:
* APEC 18x8" wheels with Falken Tyres
* G4 8 piston mono block calipers, 356mm two piece rotors & braided lines
* John Bowe Racing Springs (SL front & SSL rear)
* Whiteline Sway Bars front & rear

After getting this lot all running smoothly the T5x decided to drop its guts at 100km/hr on the way to Wollongong one Sunday night.. Rather large bill to replace the dead T5 with another one...

Decided the wheels did not suit the look of the XR, so back to stock XR 17" and stock brakes :(

May 2009 rolled around and time to get serious :twisted:
* 50mm external waste gate w/ screamer pipe
* Surge tank with 044 pump
* 4" magic cat, 3.5" exhaust

Old 3.5" metal cat (less than 1 year old)

Waiting to be re-tuned as it is now, looking for around the 300rwkw mark which it should do very easily we hope. Boost is steady at 12psi, comes on very hard, breaks traction in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear if more than 1/3 throttle is used :P manages to surprise quite a few people...
The XR as is now:

Any comments, question's, query's greatly appreciated guys & girls.
Cheers for having a look see!

Ryan

Love Blood Orange B Series. Wish my XR8 was as cheap to modify as the Turbo's.

Awsome build thread. love what your doing.

how much boost you think the motor as is would take? (i realise that the drive train would explode well before then)

Was and still is quite a handle to drive :shock: just got over the white rims on ot, plus they looked way too small with the brakes.

Looking for a nice set of 19's or 20's to put on and then the G4's go back on for some decent braking power again. As for the questions T5x was replaced with another T5x purely for $$$ factor and needing the XR on the road to get to work. Happy with it though, motor has had 25psi put through it for short periods & held up fine, bit of a freak we thinks, but the tune will be for 15 ish psi daily use..
