was just wondering if anyone knows if the egas motor bottom end are much stronger than n/a being a higher compression? would changing the bottom end to my petrol lift compression and be worth while? they're cheap on ebay n a quick rebuild n put it in my xr is not that expensive

the Egas rotating assembly is stronger. They have the F6 Rods in them too.

The block is the same, the crankshaft is also the same, from 01/12/2002 the LPG con rods are different and ONLY suit LPG, the Pistons are for LPG only up till 31/10/2005 and from that date the Pistons are the same as the EFI until the end of the BF.
The Cylinder black is the same for BA/BF EFI or LPG or Turbo until 30/09/2005 and from 01/10/2005 they use the same block, different part number. So, I guess if you could find an LPG motor that is ok in the bottom end, it would be fine to use. |
