I just pulled out the spark plugs from my AUII Fairmont
The threads/hole is extremely dry. What should I use to spray and lubricate the threads? Any products or suggestions? cheers |

i use
I use Loctite anti-seize compount on them.

cjh wrote: i use I use Loctite anti-seize compount on them. cheers, i'll go grab some from the shop right now actually by the way, does anyone know if i replace the spark plug leads, is there a particular order I have to put them on? or it doesn't matter? eg. this lead onto this connector (on the dizzy) etc. |

AU's dont have dizzy's, they have a coil pack.
The coil pack should have each post numbered 1 - 6. Make sure that the lead on whichever numbered post is going to the matching numbered sparkplug i.e. number 1 to first cylinder obviously |

I just looked under the bonnet and I can JUST see the coil pack. Does anyone know the best way to get to it? That is remove the old leads and put on the new leads. Should I go from under or above? There's too much stuff in the way. Or must I need to remove some of the other stuff before I can actually get to the coil pack? I didn't think changing leads would be so difficult. Any tips? |

remove the cai snorkel off the airbox and put your down arm under the bbm. disconnect the first lead off the coil and pull it up out the bbm and off the spark plug. match it up (length) with the new lead and put back on plug and feed it back down thru the bbm and reconnect to the coil pack. move on to the next lead and take that off the coil pack, feed thru and take it off the plug and so on and so on.

Afterwhich proceed to use a bottle of detol on the scratches all over your arm  But yes, the above method works the best, unless you have the arms of Arnie.

lol yes its a slight pain trying to change plugs in my ed and by the sounds its the same way in the au. but yes the above method is the best i have found

Where are the plugs on a BA ?
I'm guessing they're under the black plastic acrodd the top of rocker cover, or if not there, under the exhaust shield ?
