You can make plenty of hp with stock heads just cleaned up so spend ur money on the bottom end and boost will make the hp as long as botton end hangs together. Build a solid bottom end set and forget and then later on when u want more hp or what not and have the money to spend go for alloy heads.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I will have to spend another $1500 on bottom-end, and should be ready for assembly.

Pistons - $750 or so
Bearings - still have to price
ARP2000 rod bolts - still have to price
High volume oil pump - $132
Sump with pick up - $150
New timing chain set - $150
Unseen expenditures.

9:1 comp is still low for a boosted engine so dont worry there

How much power u want to make???

Theres not a big cost difference from going from standard rod thats been shot pened with ARP2000 rod bolt u know???

Also do u have the cast iron heads??? are they unleaded compatible???

I don't have the original cast iron heads. Will most likely settle for gtp's for now, just to let it flow a little better.

I will most likely go with the original rods with ARP2000 bolts. Hopefully i'll get around to ordering the Probe 22cc forged pistons next week from VPW. They seem like a pretty fair price in relation to SRP pistons from the states and other pistons through Rocket and other suppliers.

For the set-up I think 400rwhp is a fairly good goal with boost.

HI guys, im planning on putting a 351w in my EB 5L out of a f150 too, can they fit straight in or does the manifold need to be changed? I want it to be a strong N/A engine. I also saw o ebay recently from some wrecker that had the 351w with harness for $1200 it had 245ks on it complete motor... Whats the laws regarding year motor build to year of car. My car is a 92, i was told i cant get a motor any older than the car build date? is this true????
