Hey guys.

Im pretty sure my EF Fairmont needs re-gassing because when i put the climate control on a low temperature it is still blowing out hot air.

Im just wondering if its possible to do it yourself, instead of taking it to a mechanic ?

Just trying to save money and learn at the same time.

First thing do a self diagnosis to check if the blend door is stuffed. Warm the car up to operating temp, then press 'mode' and 'off' together to get in to self test.

If E2 error code is displayed, then the blend door is buggered and will need to be replaced. This involves taking the dash out.

And to answer your question, NO, you can't regass it yourself.

Needs to be done by a qualified A/C mechanic with the correct gas equipment.
