Hi Guys

I changed my engine in my AU I falcon a while ago because i found dreaded oil in the water. Anyway, i replaced the engine with a tickford engine out of a newer falcon. It ran fairly well even though i never bothered to do anything about the VCT.

After six months, all of a sudden its started ticking and i cannot work out where its comming from. It started off quietly and has been getting progressivly louder. It seems to be comming from the exhaust side of the engine from around the back bottom, only when the car is under load.

has anyone come across this? when i was putting the new engine in i messed up and didn't put the transmission lines in with it, so i had to feed them through once it was in i put a small kink in the line, but i don't think that would be enough to cause a large pressure drop.

another thing, i couldn't be bothered looking for my locktight when i attached the torque converter to the flywheel, but i torqued the crap out of it anyway, could that be the reason? i just can't see how it could cause ticking.

Plus the car doesn't seem to be running as well as it did

thanks folks
