hi guys i have a series 2 au fairmont and i am wanting to put the xr6/8 front on it.
what kind of mods would i need to do or is it just a straight bolt in swap with new lights?

Well, you will need a front bar and 2 headlights plus wiring for them plus a new bonnet. It will all bolt up and shouldn't take too long.
