So my DF was pulling to the right when braking after being parked up for a few months, figured it was the caliper slider being seized. Pulled the left front caliper off and checked it, no problems. When i went to refit it i realised the piston wasn't pushing the pads back into the rotor. Tried to bleed the caliper, no fluid. Cracked the fitting at the abs module for the LF caliper and nothing! Plenty of flow to the RF (luckily).
So obviously the abs is blocked to the LF caliper. Pulled it apart and swapped the LF and RF solenoids, no flow to the right port. Anyone else had any experience with this? Ford want $2300 for a new abs modulator, figured that will be my last resort. I'm in Brisbane if anyone can recommend a place that are good a rebuilding abs modules... Cheers! |

Get one from a wrecker ??
The early EF's run an ABS unit as per the pic in the doco - late EF's and EL's run a different type unit - both are Bosch though. The brake lines into both are different as far as bends go, etc. The rear brake lines for all the 3 channel ABS are identical to non ABS cars from firewall rearwards.
