Hi all,
I have bought an EL XR8 series one, 163,000 ks and good even compression. I did a major service myself when i bought it including an oil change to Penrite HPR10 (10w50) when the car is started cold and run normally it has no problems i have noticed however that if you take it for a long drive get it up to operating temp them restart after a short period the motor knocks slightly while it gets oil pressure back up (which takes slightly longer than when cold) what is the problem here, is the oil too thin? given its milage i thoiught it would be spot on? will a brief knock cause excess wear or is that normal for therse? any help appreciated thanks |

same thing with my EL, 161K on it. Had s**t oil and not enough.
Oil change, filter etc, and no mroe knocking. Happy. Though i think my oils a bit thin, so oil pressure can be a bit up & down
