Hi im doing a thermo fan conversion on my eb falcon and ive got the ice thermo switch set just wanted to know which wire i can use for the trigger wire, were to find it and any extra wiring tips i can get. thanks :)

Hey, id love to help but i haven't seen the ICE thermo switch set before, Ive got an ICE thermo fan and it suggested the switch so it's on my to do list.

Which wire do you mean by trigger wire?

As for tips it's pretty easy. Just make sure you have a relay (about 40A) to control each thermo fan you are running. There are some good posts in the technical document section that contain the wiring, fuses and wire size for the thermos, davis craig thermo switch, bypass switch and for the A/C switch to turn on a thermo when you turn A/C on.

How much did you pay for the ICE brand swith, I'm tossing up between that, davis craig and pro-comp.

Thanks mate i mean the ignition trigger wire to power it on and off i got the ice themo switch set from repco for 70 somthing bux.

I'd say pull a wire through the firewall and use an ACC wire like radio or Cigarette plug. Gotta pull wires through anyway if you are setting up a bypass switch.

Maybe if you don't want to pull wires maybe get power from the fuel pump fuse/relay. I'd only imagine that it's on all the time (when the car is running, i think when IGN is on but car isn't it only switches on for a second or 2 to prime the fuel lines....?)

hey mate i have an ed falcon classic, i put the thermo fans in mine and is heaps better, but dont be a d***head like me and forget to put conduit over ALL of your wires!!! this can be costly i didnt use conduit and the positive wire rubbed on the frame, shorted and the battery caught fire!!! $450 later to replace some of the wiring and a new battery!!! make sure you conduit your wires!!!

I took power from the back of the fuse box inside the car, you cant get power from the fuel pump relays etc. as they are all negative switching and therefore have permanent positive power to them, unless you set it all up to be negative switching. ( I don't like doing this as it seems a risk to have extra positive power wires running around the engine bay that are always live.)

another tip to consider is running 3 relays, 2 of them are turned on via the thermo switch and control one fan each. the third relay you can use to power only one fan whilst your A/C is on by tapping into the a/c compressor clutch engaging wire and using it as a negative switch for the third relay, that way when you are stopped and have your a/c running you still have airflow to keep the a/c working to the best of its potential.

I have done this and it works a treat where on the last car I did I didn't bother and found on hot days when in traffic or at the lights for a while the a/c started to warm up.

just a thought.

i am using the ignition feed from either the fuel pump relay or abs relay... cant remember which one lol..
as its only a power supply to power up the relays it will have no effect on the fuel pump or abs..
this also saves running wires into the car... :)
