solder and heat shrink is the best way to go.

If its a permanant join your looking for then solder and heat shrink is the go.
I have found that if a connector is required it is still better to solder and shrink. I remove plastic from connector, solder on the wire, slip some heat shrink over the connector and shrink with hot air gun. With the heat shrink, cover the entire female connector, only cover the solder joint on the male. Do it this way you will have a more professional looking job and no troubles with broken connections later.

Solder and heatshrink. Definately worth it when you dont have a wire come loose and blow a fuse durnig a 1000km trip to Sydney or something. Or have the dodgy rear spekaer that crackles because of the crimp connector.

yeah solder, if no heat shrink, use tape, but minimum you need to solder.

solder, never setle for anything less. i haven't used shrink before on deck installs but i guessit would work. i always use eleccy tape. does hte job well. don't ever use quick crimp s**t unless u have to, like a fan in a removable panel or something

You should try heat shrink, far better than elec tape. If you really need to use a connector for a join that may need disconnecting later, solder the wire to it, don't crimp it. That way you get the best of both worlds.
