Hey guys ive just started driving my car again but now it only seems to stay in 3rd what is causing it to stay in 3rd?

i put it in drive but its 3rd

Common problem, limp home mode. It is 95% sure that it is the S5 solenoid, they are expensive and cost about $260.00. There ARE places around that may be able to help with one cheaper than that but I am not sure who they are. Ebay might be a good starting place?

If you DO decide to get it and do it yourself, it is NOT an easy task and will require a set of stands, drain Auto oil and then use a torxbit to get the two screws out that hold the S5 in and hope that you have the metal type with the plastic end on it.

Other than that, find a GOOD auto place.
