1st- 3.25:1
2nd- 1.99:1 3rd- 1.29:1 4th- 1.00:1 5th- 0.72:1 reverse- who the f**k cares?

Isn't the 3.25:1 in first only for the XRs? I seem to remember reading somewhere (or being told) that XR's were 3.25 and others were 2.95 or something?

It doesnt specify any difference between the XR's and the rest of the range in the owners manual. surely ford would have put it in there if it did

Hmm. not sure if those ratio's given match my box. They match whats written in my workshop manual.. but there's something about 2nd and 3rd which isn't quite right.
I guess i'll have to take speed readings at given RPM's to find the difference.

Bit off topic, but in my EA, EB, EBII Workshop Manual the specification for 3.2 / 3.9 I6 T5 box ratios are fair bit lower than the other models - so I guess if anyone wants lower gearing for performance then track down a T5 from 3.2 / 3.9 litre
