hi guys,
i own an EL falcon XR6 1998 model, i was wondering if the aerial was broken and was supposed to go up when i turned the radio on because it doesnt. is it possible for me to do this? thanks |

i beleve in an xr they dont move but you can get a electric antenna for your car and wiet it up.
some one will be able to confirm for sure

From what i know, the aerials on XR's are manually operated. The one on my Dad's EF XR is only manually adjustable, so you adjust it to the height you want and it stays that way.

if you had a power aerial there would be a switch on the dash, but if you REALLY want one then buy an aftermarket one and connect it to your headunit

Yeah i think XR's were manual antennas. And you can put power antennas if you wish and the instructions is in the Technical Doc section.

hey guys,
i sorted out my aerial i ended up buying an aftermarket one from strathfield car radios for 64$, it had the circuit diagram in it so i wired it up easily, active to the cig lighter and signal cable from back of cd player. it works fine and looks great!! thanks for all your posts |

64 bucks sounds alright. after 13 years, the standard manual ones seem to get a bit... rusty.
and yes xr's were manual....

my idea, gees arent i awesome.
now you have done it and i seen it i think i might do it to mine but without butchering the inside of the guard, lol i might get in there with the air grinder to make the cut out,
