In order to find the correct amount to trim,
1) Remove the Original Snorkel, by removing the 2 retaining screws, and twisting the snorkel away from the Airbox.
2) Fit the new AU XR8 snorkel to the Airbox, and mark the area that overlaps the metal lip.
3) Whilst the snorkel is fitted, mark 2 holes where the snorkel mounting screws are to be placed. Cut the area of the snorkel using quality scissors, or a hobby / Stanley knife.

4) Drill the 2 marked holes using the 3mm Drill bit, and taking care that you do not pierce the Radiator below.

5) Fit the snorkel, and the 2 retaining screws in their new location

WHat does sep number 3 mean?

f**k man
honestly, just get into it

unscrew and rip off the old snorkel... whack the new one on...
memorise or get a greyled and mark where you need to cut the new snorkel (about 1cm from the lip... and right hand corner a little bit)

either use old holes or make new ones...
i just made new ones.... drill holes into your snorkel about 1/4 way in from each edge... drill to you go through.... put the snorkle back on the car... make in grey led through the two holes... remove snorkel (if you wish, if its easier for you) drill small holes... screw the f**k in and your set

i used the existing hole closest to the airbox, and errrr 'drilled' a new hole to match up for the 2nd hole... lines up perfectly

be cautious taking Fraser's advice on how to install this item ... he uses a unique way of fitting which might seem a bit scary to others - was to me!!! :D

Good thing Im on the other side of AUstralia I know about Frasers "drilling habits".

So I need to trim to snorkel down a little to make it fit, I guess thats what I was after.

Chunkz, I only got it today and installing it was the last thing on my mind today. Will give it a go tomorrow.

We talk you down because you're so easy to stir up.

Just makin a point mate, thats all.
Provoking people like this gives me a hard on :P

Oh, and for those of you that don't know...ugly bob's method of drilling, involves a 3 inch galv nail and a hammer. Only after we finished did i remind him that the radiator was underneath.

One of my close family members passed away this morning Chunkz, installing my snorkel was the last thing on my mind. I had forgot I ordered it from FTG.

didn't have to trim anything off mine, just drilled 2 new holes in the AU intake snorkle that line up with the existing holes for the stock snorkle, no new holes drilled in the car at all
