Is this normal or have I been taken for a ride. Changes fine once driving just when selecting its a b**ch. Although it may be fine for 2 weeks then start again?!?! Please help. I have searched everywhere for answers!! |

Whenever you move the selector, or just that first time, moveing from p to gear?
Maybe the bushes in ththe selctor handle in the cabin or even on the linkages. Or last but least maybe rip apart the inhibitor switch and give it a little grease, encase they cllean it out, I believe it'll need a contact sort of grease for the electrics, although I've never pulled the one in my ford off, so could be completely different. Just some though, basically work from the easy stuff through.

Previous owner had drilled holes in the valve body but problem didn come up until I got it serviced. Tranny fluid was like vegemite. Serviced, Second hand valve body fitted and s5 solenoid replaced. It did thump before the rebuild but it was more consistent (thumped most of the time but no so violent). I know most autos do thump abit but you feel the whole car jerk. As I said its an intermittent problem but is driving me nuts. Tranny has 20,000 km warranty on it though. Jus want her to purr.
