hi guys

slight prob with my auto au fairmont... revs on petrol are limited to 4000?
no problems on gas, goes to the limiter, but when im givin it the curry on petrol it hits spot on 4000 and stops there. the whole car shudders and accordin to the mate who was in the process of eatin my dust, there was a s**tload of black smoke out the tailpipe.

also, it holds the gear your in (unless you take ur foot off) which is a pain in the a** off the line, 'cos 60kmh is all you get then u look like uv fkd somethin major internally an seem like a tool.
its not so crash hot for overtakin on the open road either.

cos its fine on gas im thinkin fuel filter or pump, and maybe 4000 is possibly just a random rev count?

i rekon i could push it up past the 4k by downshiftin at speed but i dunno whether it would only make it worse? she runs fine low down or on gas so i dont really wanna risk doin somethin that could fk it, cos i seriously cant afford a big mech bill.

if anyone has had this happen and fixed it or if you think ya know wat it is, any help would b much appreciated.

most likey the fuel filter mate, get that changed and run some fuel cleaner through and it should be sweet. Also wouldnt be bad to check your spark plug leads are connected properly

yeah will do. its goin in for its *sigh* 200 thou service 2moro so ill get em to check all that.
