The falcons in the too hard basket so im down to the fairmont
Its 93 ed fairmont with a gas conversion. The radiator has a few slow leaks and it car over heated going up the range the other day even though there was plenty of water in it... My dead ef falcon has just had the radiator replaced after it blew up 3 weeks ago. Can i swap the radiators and what would i have to do to install the ef thermo fan. Im moving soon so i need a car that can handle the big hills up and down from montville. Is there anything else i can do to improve the cooling system while im at it.

Somebody will be able to confirm for sure, but I think the hose inlets and outlets on the radiator may be in different locations. If so, you should be able to use it, you will just need different radiator hoses to match up.
The EF Thermofans can be mounted, and wired up with either an EL ECU or a Davies Craig wiring kit or similar. You will need to remove the big fan off the front of the motor to do so. You will also get a nice performance increase from it too. As for getting the best cooling possible, make sure all the hoses are good, put a fresh thermostat in and make sure the system has fresh coolant and is free from dirt and s**t. Goodluck! |
