i just cleaned mine up with some sandpaper. dont rub it back to bare metal or the fresh paint would stick properly. then spray it with some hi-temp paint. VHT make some real good paint and in a range of colours. if its done properly it will come up a treat

does it NEED to be high temp paint? I wanna do mine in body matched paint, but of course can't get it in high temp. Or would a high temp undercoat work ok?

You dont need hi temp paint most 2pac paints will do the job just see your local auto paint supplier or crash shop.

any enamel paints can go on to bare metal so dont worry about sanding the old paint of. alternatively you could paint strip it, use some etch primer then spray it in acrylic.
