Can anybody tell me what an EF falcon 6cyl 4l engine weighs. Somebody told me that it is close to the same weight as a 5l V8 in the same car, ie 194kg bare. I find that a bit hard to believe as Ford used thin wall casting to reduce all up weight in the 6cyl block.

afaik the 6 weighs about 190 kg with no ascessories or manifolds..

Hey all, no more answers needed. I just did a comparison of the XR6 and the XR8 sedans. In identical trim, the XR6 weighs 1481 kgs and the XR8 weighs 1521. Basically, the main difference is the weight of the motors. So something near 40kg heavier for the V8.
