I have recently purchased a 2003 BA XR6 and am curious as to whether i can ditch the 4spd auto for the 6spd zf auto?
Can it be done and if so is it easy enough and cheap enough to do?

It can be done but it's not easy or cheap, goto fordxr6turbo.com and do a search, there's a huge thread on there where a guy done it and documented alot of it.

You'll have to change wiring looms, ECU (for a BF one), get it tuned to work. And the ZF boxes aren't cheap. (they're $16k new). I've also heard floorpan modifications need to be made, but some people have done it, so I guess it's not impossible. Darren @ FTG wreckers converted a BA wagon to run a BF typhoon engine and ZF drive line.
