I was getting quotes today for a set of sl/ssl springs shocks for an AU1 sedan. I was told by a spring supplier that he could reset the original factory springs 2 1/2" to 3" rear and front to match, and that i can still use the standard shocks.
He said you get the low look without the harshness. As shown in the pic it does need to be dropped.

I would be talking to another supplier.
The bit about harshness with resetting standard springs possibly correct but I really doubt it. As far as dropping a car 2.5" to 3" and running standard shocks..........what a crock of s**t. You would be slamming the end of compression on the shock everytime you hit a bump. Plus everytime you jacked the car up the springs would fall out of their retainers due to the standard long shock travel. A set of low springs with the correct matching shocks for comfort will ride firm yes but does not have to be harsh. My NF has superlows in it with Bilsteins and yeah its firm but you dont need a kidney belt to ride in it. In my opinion reset standard springs on standard shocks would create harshness as you keep hitting the shock stops when travelling.

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around! |

May as well cut them, just as bad in my books.
Get some Pedders lows, a good ride without the 4x4 look.
