EA MPFI Auto, I am experiencing hesitation/misfire when very little throttle is applied, either from a standstill or at speed, this occurs anywhere below about 1700rpm. Anything above this rpm is fine. It seems that as it warms up the hesitation decreases but does not go away completely. Coolant temp and air temp sensors are reading ok, TPS is reading about .90V closed and 4.40V WOT. The entire ignition system has been overhauled and the fuel filter has been recently replaced. Gaskets have been recently replaced and all bolts are tight. timing is also spot on,
Should i be running it advance a few degrees at base idle? Took the ISC off, cleaned it and applied voltage to the solenoid to see if it works, as i think this is the problem, works fine off the car but the ECU readings at the ECU connector are off spec. Readout on ECU is 12V with Ignition on and 10.5V with engine running, should be 9V and pulsing between 9 and 10.5V respectively according to Gregorys. Would this be the cause of my problem?. Also what is the effect of the 'throttle cable tension' screw? could this be my problem? Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, TB |
